Welcome to Suburban Traveller

Hello! Welcome to my first blog post!

We’re Sharon and Rasho, Richie and Fifi. We’re a typical suburban family, commuting to work in Toronto, balancing a home and kids, finances and marriage, a dog. Home life is busy and awesome, but the thing is, I have an insatiable case of wanderlust. I want to go everywhere and see everything there is to see. Thankfully, I have a very nice husband who’s on board with making world exploration a major factor in our lives.

We love to vacation, and we love to travel, so in this blog I hope to share some of the fabulous places we’ve discovered, and also get excited for new places yet to come!

We travel with the kids and without; independently and single-parented. One of us is an explorer, and one of us loves to relax. Follow along for destinations, money-saving tips, itinerary suggestions, and just a happy exchange on the ups – and occasional downs – of travel.

Are you a travel junkie? How do you make it work? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’m more of a travel bug than my hubby. But he’s got to come with sometimes – it’s more fun that way. We alternate, we go away maybe every other year, do renos around the house (and don’t get me going on THAT) For us, the challenge is the time to get away. So worth it though, you have to make memories, you can’t just work, work, work, work, work! Go enjoy life!

    1. Oh, renos. My nemesis travel-killer. There’s nothing like travel memories: they become part of you and stay with you forever!

  2. We budget every month a portion of our income for travelling and have a separate budget account for it. It makes it easier to know the money is there and to plan each year.
    Great blog by the way
